Where should a snowboard come up to?
Stand the board on its tail. The old rule says it should reach between your chin and your nose. It’s a quick check in a shop, but weight flexes the board, so when the two disagree, go by your weight.
Snowboard size questions
Should my board reach my chin or my nose?
That old rule is a starting point only. Weight flexes the board, so it matters more than height, and park riders go shorter while powder riders go longer.
I’m heavy for my height. Which chart wins?
Weight. A board that’s too short for your weight feels unstable at speed. The calculator says when your height and weight point to different lengths.
Do women’s boards use a different chart?
Length follows rider weight for everyone. Width tables use men’s boot sizes. Choose Women’s and we convert: US women’s sizes run one above men’s for the same foot (Burton’s size chart).
How we size: REI’s weight chart sets the range, evo’s height chart checks it, and ability and riding style pick the spot in the range. Sources and dates are on how we size.
