How do I measure my inseam?
Stand against a wall in socks, pull a hardback book up between your legs like a saddle, and measure from the top of the book to the floor. Full steps with a drawing.
Bike size chart questions
What if I’m between two sizes?
The bigger frame has a longer reach and feels steadier at speed. The smaller one is nimbler and lower to step over. Your inseam settles it: the calculator uses it to pick one.
Is this chart for men or women?
Both. Most brands now size the same frames by height for everyone. A few make women’s frames with their own chart; check that brand’s chart if you’re buying one.
Why does my brand call it something else?
Brands agree on heights to within about one size but name sizes differently: a 175 cm rider is a 54 or 56 at Specialized and an S at Canyon. Sizes by brand has each name.
